“We are a psychic process we do not control and only partly direct,” noted Carl Jung, the father of transpersonal psychology. Inherent in that psychic process is a wisdom that directs our souls toward their needed development. And sometimes, in the depth of winter or a spring long overdue in appearing, the soul’s art emerges, and heralds what is to come. I was reminded of this during cancer treatment. Indeed, over the past few months, I’ve grown in ways I didn’t expect and could not have planned. I learned how to: Ask for and accept support Disrupt, finally, some old, embodied stories See the community that was there all along Let go of unhealthy habits and beliefs Reclaim what gives my life meaning.
Now, months later, the tumor has disappeared from the MRI. I am regaining my energy and reclaiming my body. I’m writing again, and finding once more delight in the creative process, and the creative act of envisioning this next chapter. And I am so, so thankful to so many of you who reached out with love and caring. All I see right now, and all I wish for you, is possibilities. Carolyn
