I have lived two lives….

I started my career as a writer and found my niche in instructional and game design. And although I’ve designed board games and simulation games driven by story, and written about employee development over the years, it was only laying the groundwork for what was to come.

This was my first life.

Mid-career, I entered a graduate writing program. I told myself I needed credentials for my work with story. In fact, I wanted to understand why I was so neurotic. (Mission accomplished.) I also reverse-engineered the design of my own story and discovered its motherlode: mythology.

This was the launch pad for my second life.

Today, I write and speak on the power of story in our lives and world, the inextricable link between the two, and the critical role of self-awareness in transforming both.
